October Orchestra News

Honor Orchestra

To begin the month of October, Reedy Orchestra's varsity Symphonic Orchestra participated in the TMEA Honor Orchestra competition. They performed three pieces including Lyric for Strings, Introduction & Allegro - Elgar, and Strange Humors.


Their recordings took place on October 5th at McKinney High School and October 11th at Lone Star High School. Many friends and family members came to watch the performances, and we are so proud of the Symphonic Orchestra for their hard work and dedication!


All-Region & All-State

To begin the month of October, many Reedy Orchestra students auditioned for the TMEA All-Region competition on the 14th. Congratulations to the 25 All-Region-selected Reedy Orchestra musicians as well as the eight Reedy Orchestra students who advanced to the Area recording round!


The All-Region audition process takes immense practice and preparation, and the Reedy Orchestra program is so proud of every student who participated and grew from the experience!


Fall Concert

On October 17th, Reedy Orchestra hosted the annual Fall Concert in the Reedy Auditorium. The concert began with a stunning performance by the Bollywood Dance Club, followed by each of the five orchestras performing pieces such as Wisteria Waltz and Strange Humors. It was a great night to enjoy all the music and art of the hardworking Reedy Orchestra students and directors!


Halloween Costume Social

On Friday, October 20th, Reedy Orchestra hosted the annual Halloween Costume social! Students came dressed in a variety of individual and group costumes to participate in an exciting costume competition!


The social festivities included pizza and snacks, a karaoke/dance party, and a spooky Halloween movie to watch while decorating pumpkins. We hope to see you there next year!
