November Composer of the Month

For November, we are highlighting Niccolò Paganini, an Italian violin virtuoso and composer from the Romantic era. Born in Genoa, Paganini began playing violin at 7 years old and he was so talented that he began performing on tours at 15. Paganini was called the “devil’s violinist” for his unbelievable skill, and he popularized many techniques that we use to this day, such as left hand pizzicato and harmonics. He composed several important works such as the 24 Caprices. Paganini is one of the most celebrated violinists of all time, and he is remembered for his sheer talent and his influence on violin technique. We would recommend listening to La Campanella for its expressiveness and technical beauty!
